a) Masses in the abdomen and amenorrhea:

It is often used in combination with burreed (Rhizoma Sparganii), peach kernels, safflower, etc.

b) General weakness:

The drug is used in combination with qi and blood tonics such as ginseng, Chinese angelica, etc., in order to prevent any impairment of primordial qi, e.g., Huazheng Huisheng Dan.

c) Traumatic injuries:

This drug is used in combination with sappan caesalpinia, pyrite, etc., e.g., Jiegu Huolong Dan.

2. Miscellaneous:

Recently this drug has been used for the clinical treatment of thrombocytosis (increased numbers of platelets in the peripheral blood) by means of short-term oral administration with its decoction, resulting in certain curative effects. It has had better effects on the treatment of intracranial (within the skull) hematoma (localised collection of blood, usually clotted, in an organ, space or tissue) due to cerebral hemorrhage and has produced especially good effects on anyone with hemorrhage of the ectosac.

In addition, it can also be used for the treatment of blood stasis and swelling after a severed limb replantation operation. It is also effective to certain extents with regard to periods of coronary angina pectoris (a paroxysmal thoracic pain, with a failing of suffocation and impending death) or acute attacks of pulmonary heart disease, and to hyperlipemia, etc.
